Thanksgiving at Plymouth, MA (November 24-26, 2005)

In 2005, we had the privilege of spending Thanksgiving in Plymouth, MA.

One of the things we did was tour a full-scale replica of the Mayflower, seen in this picture.

Here we are outside of the Plymouth Hall Museum.

Plymouth Rock

The story of the pilgrims is currently debated by both historians AND politicians! On a hill overlooking Plymouth Rock (above), two plaques stand near eachother. One is a 1921 "grateful tribute" for the pilgrims. The other is a 1970 plaque condemning the genocide, theft of lands, and the "oppression that Native Americans continue to experience." Both plaques claim to be from Native Americans.
